The School of Law of UCLan Cyprus is pleased to announce a new LLM module on EU Constitutional Law and Governance in populist times. This is an exciting and timely module investigating populism, one of the primary threats to European stability, democracy, and the rule of law. As such, it is an incredible opportunity for students from all disciplines. The module not only analyses populism proliferates at the local, national, and regional level, deteriorating the rule of law and undermining democratic government, but also evaluates the mechanisms available to the EU to stymie the growth of right-wing populism.
Jean Monnet Module
This module takes place within the framework of the Jean Monnet Module entitled ‘European Union Law and Governance in Populist Times’. The JMM is funded by the European Union (Jean Monnet key action) and running at the School of Law of UCLan Cyprus (2019-2022) (EU-POP). For more information, visit https://eupopulism.eu/.
The module is relevant for any advanced students interested in the current state of the EU, the worldwide threat right-wing populism poses, and in the value of democracy and the rule of law in general.
